Abstract

Micromorphological characters of leaf epidermis of 7species of Scleria in Fujian were examined by LM and SEM.Under SEM,itwas described such as cuticularmembrane, wax ornamenta- tion and epidermal hairs. The stomatal size, stomatal density and stomatal index were measured and counted under L M.The results show thatthe characters such as shape and pattern of anticlinal walls of epidermis cells, culticular membrane, wax ornamentation and silica bodies are less important be- tween species. The featuresof stomatal density, stomatal index, stomatal size stomatal distribution and epidermal hairs possess the classific value of species.
