Abstract

Objective:To evaluate and compare the efficacy and toxicity of vinrel bine plus carboplatin and vinorelbine plus cisplatin on the treatment of advanced non-smal1 cell lung cancer.Methods:178 patients with advanced NSCLC were randomized into vinorelbine plus carboplatin (group NC)and vinorelbine plus cisplatin(group NP).Patients in both groups were well-matched with baseline disease characteristics(P0.05).Results:In NC group, the response rate was 43.7% (38/87).In NP group, the response rate was 45.1%(41/91).The difference of response rates between two groups was not statistically significant (P0.05).The median survival were 11 months to group NC and 10 months to group NP. The 1 year survival rates of NC group were 37.9% and of NP group were 38.5%. The 3-year survival rates of NC group were 9.2% and of NP group were 9.9%,The difference of the efficacy between two groups was not statistically significant (P0.05). The dose limiting toxicity in both groups was leukopenia. In NC group, gradeⅢ~Ⅳ leukopenia occourred in 22.3%. In NP group ,grade Ⅲ~Ⅳ leukopenia occourred in 21.1%(P0.05). Nausea and vomiting were more serious in NP group than in NC group (P0.05).Conclusion:Both vinorelbine plus carboplatin and vinorelbine plus cisplatin regimen are effective for treatment of advanced NSCLC. There are no significantly differences in efficacy and toxicity between these two regimens. Digestive tract were more mild in NC group than in NP group.
