Abstract

Objective To evaluate the difference of efficacy and side-effects in advanced non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC)patients treated with carboplatin plus vinorelbine or cisplatin plus vinorelbine.Method Eligible patients were randomly assigned to NC(carboplatin+vinorelbine)group and NP(cisplatin+vinorelbine)group. In the NC group,39 evaluable cases were treated with NVB 25 mg/m2 and carboplatin AUC 5 in 21 days per cycle. In the NP group,37evaluable cases were treated with NVB 25 mg/m2 and cisplatin 100 mg/m2 in 21 days per cycle. The response rate,side-effects and the quality of life were observed. Results The response rates were 35.89% and 35.13%(P=0.4),the median TTP were 4.9 months and 5.5 months(P=0.75),for the NC and NP groups, respectively.Grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ hematological toxicity occurred more frequent in the NC group than in the NP group(P0.05).Grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ nausea and vomiting was significantly less occurred in the NC group than in the NP group(5.12% vs.62.2%,P0.05).Conclusion Due to good efficacy and tolerability, the NC regimen offered a new candidate for treating advanced NSCLC.
