An analysis of industry co-agglomeration in Yangtze River Delta-also on revelations for industrial development in Jing-Jin-Tang district

Based on the background of the Yangtze River Delta industrial clustering and industrial upgrading,we use the manufacturing and services industry data of the Yangtze River Delta region in 1990 ~ 2005 for the empirical analysis and obtain some basic conclusions: industrial agglomeration and co-agglomeration is an alternative explanation of industrial cluster formation and development.Without the co-agglomeration of industry,industrial clustering and the following excessive competition will damage the development of industrial clusters;industrial agglomeration and co-agglomeration between industries will raise the level of their respective technology,thereby promoting mutual coordination and upgrading their industries.Co-agglomeration between Yangtze River Delta manufacturing and services will weaken the excessive competition,local industry structure repetition and industry shrinking triggered by agglomeration of manufacturing sector,,thereby increasing the possibilities of smooth realization of industrial upgrading,so as to provide industrial development of other regions a new experience to draw on.,particularly Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan region.
