Impact of Chaishao Weiyan Granule on Gastrointestinal Motility in Rats with Functional Dyspepsia

Objective: To study the effect of Chaishao Weiyan(CSWY) Granule on gastrointestinal motility in rats with functional dyspepsia(FD),and to explore its mechanism.Methods: The rats were randomly divided into six groups: normal control group,model control group,high dose CSWY Granule group,medium-dose CSWY Granule group,low-dose CSWY Granule group and Domperidone group,observing the effect on plasma motilin levels and gastric empty in rats with functional dyspepsia. Results: The plasma motilin levels and gastric empty in the other groups were significantly higher than model control group(P0.05).No significant differences were noted in plasma motilin levels and gastric empty among the normal control group,medium-and high-dose CSWY Granule groups(P0.05).However,the Motilin in these three groups were better than that in the Domperidone group and low-dose CSWY Granule group(P0.05),while there was no significant differences between the latter two groups(P0.05).The gastric empty in the normal control group,medium and high-dose CSWY Granule groups were better than low-dose CSWY Granule group(P0.05) while lower than Domperidone(P0.05).Conclusion: It's one of the possible mechanisms of Chaishao Weiyan(CSWY) Granule on accelerating the gastrointestinal motility in rats with FD,increasing plasma MOT levels and gastric empty.
