Abstract

Objective To detect the content of plasma endothelin (ET) and calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP) in patients with cerebrovascular accident and study the changes of ET and CGRP before treatment and posttreatment. Methods Analyze the content of plasma ET and CGRP of acute and recovering time in 51 patients with ischemic stroke and 60 patients with hematencephalon using radioimmunoassay(RIA).Results The content of plasma ET in patients with cerebrovascular is markedly higher than contrast group ( P 0.01) and decreased a little after treatment. The plasma CGRP of acute time is obvionsly higher than contrast group ( P 0.01), and became normal in recoving time. Conclusion The content of plasma ET and CGRP both rose at the acute time of cerebrovascular accident and decreased after treatment step and step. The content of plasma ET and CGRP were related to the extent of the injury of brain and indicates they play important roles during the course of changes of disease.
