Abstract

Objective To investigate the distribution of allergens in patients with allergic rhinitis in the southwest of Shanghai. Methods Skin prick tests were done to 680 patients with suspected allergic rhinitis with AUergopharma fluid.Histamine was used as a positive control, and normal saline as a negative control. Results 436 cases were positive (64.12%).The positive rates of Dermatophagoides farinae and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus were 49.56%and 49.26%.Conclusion Dermatophagoides farinae and D pteronyssinus were the major allergens in patients with allergic rhinitis in the southwest of Shanghai.Skin prick tests with AUergopharma fluid could identify allergens of allergic rhinitis. The results may provide the guideline for the treatment and prevention of allergic rhinitis.
