On the New Trend of Public Expenditure in China

Abstract

Public expenditure is increasing with the development of the economy, both in terms of its absolute value and its proportion to the Gross National Product. In China, the public expenditure decreased year by year from 1980 to 1995, but since 1996, the public expenditure has been increasing. This paper analyses the causes of this phenomenon and its trend of changes.
