Abstract
Public expenditure plays a vital role of the development of any country or states public/citizens. In developing countries, public expenditure policy not only accelerates economic growth & promotes employment opportunities but also plays a useful role in reducing poverty and inequalities in income distribution. This paper an aggressive attempt has been made to analyse the trend of public expenditure from 1995 to 2013 and also identify the compositions of revenue and capital expenditure in Himachal Pradesh with the help of simple percentage, compound annual growth rate, trend line and bar diagrams. The Study also analyse the pattern of plan and non plan revenue and capital expenditure and revealed that non plan expenditure more than plan expenditure. The study also shows that current revenue expenditure like expenditure on social service, economic service, general service and grants-in-aids. On the other hands regarding capital expenditure like social service, economic service and non development expenditure and also study the total development expenditure like development capital expenditure and development revenue expenditure of Himachal Pradesh. In this papers very interesting to analysis various liabilities committed and revealed that very huge burden of pension in the Himachal Pradesh government.
