Abstract
Aim: To investigate the relationship between expressions of C-Met and osteopontin and the invasiveness, metastasis in gastric cancer. Methods: The expression of C-Met and osteopontin in 60 cases of gastric carcinoma was detected using immunohistochemistry method. Results: In gastric cancer tissue, the positive expression rates of C-Met and osteopontin were 66.7%(40/60)and 73.3%(44/60),respectively. C-Met and osteopontin expression were related to histologic type, pathology period, invasion depth, lymphatic and distant metastasis(P0.05). The expression of C-Met was positively correlated with osteopontin in gastric cancer tissue(r_s=0.533,P0.05).Conclusion: Both C-Met and osteopontin are significantly related to the invasiveness and metastasis of gastric carcinoma. The expression of them can reflect the biological characteristics of gastric cancer thus can be the important indicator of prognosis.
