Abstract
Objective To investigate the levels of pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A(PAPP-A) and matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9) in acute coronary syndrome(ACS),and provide new laboratory indexes for coronary vulnerable plaque identification in clinical diagnosis. Methods 95 cases of patients hospitalized for chest pain were selected to be the object of this study,in which 55 cases were patients with acute coronary syndrome and they were divided into: 29 cases of acute myocardial infarction(AMI) group(AMI group),26-case unstable angina pectoris(UAP) group(UAP group),20-cases stable angina pectoris patients as SAP group, and 20 cases of patients excluded from coronary heart disease as the normal control group.Plasma PAPP-A and MMP-9 levels were detected by ELISA,and such indicators as function of liver and kidney, blood sugar, cholesterol were detected by automatic biochemical analyzer.Results(1)For acute coronary syndrome(AMI and UAP groups),PAPP-A and MMP-9 levels in plasma were significantly higher than those of the SAP group and the control group(P0.01).(2)For AMI and UAP groups, there were no significantly differences in PAPP-A,MMP-9 levels(P0.05).(3) For SAP group and the healthy control group, there were also no significant differences in PAPP-A,MMP-9 levels(P0.05).Conclusion ACS patients' serum PAPP-A and MMP-9 were significantly increased, which may indicate the instability of coronary atherosclerotic plaque.
