Abstract

Objective To investigate the levels of serum matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9) and its specific inhibitor of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 1(TIMP-1) in patients with different types of coronary heart disease and the clinical value. Methods 117 subjects with coronary heart disease diagnosed by coronary angiography were divided into three groups:25 cases of acute myocardial infarction(AMI) group,57 cases of unstable angina pectoris group(UAP) group,35 cases of stable angina pectoris group(SAP) group and 30 cases of normal healthy control group.Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELASA) was used to test the serum MMP-9,TIMP-1 in patients of each group. Results The serum MMP-9 level was significantly higher in AMI and UAP group(P0.01),while there was no significant difference between that in SAP group and the control group(P0.05).The serum TIMP-1 level in each group was no significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion Serum MMP-9 levels may increase with the progression of coronary heart disease.
