Abstract
Objective To prove the practical value of tumor specific growth factor (TSGF) determination in diagnosis and curative effect supervising for malignant gynecological tumors. Methods Adopting the fast diagnostic kit of TSGF,serum levels of TSGF were measured in 44 cases with ovarian carcinoma (30 out of them were rechecked after 2~3 months of treatment),19 cases with carcinoma of endometrium,39 cases with cervical carcinoma,41 cases with benign gynecological tumor and 58 healthy controls. Results Serum levels of TSGF in all three groups of malignant tumors increased. In comparison with those of benign gynecological tumor and normal groups,a remarkable difference existed( P 0.01).When 30 cases with ovarian carcinoma were rechecked after treatment,TSGF decreased significantly in 24 cases as compared with that before treatment ( P 0.05).But serum levels of TSGF in remaining 6 cases raised as the patient′s condition worsened, showing significant difference in comparison with those before treatment ( P 0 01). Conclusions The determination of serum TSGF levels has distinctly auxiliary value in the diagnosis of malignant gynecological tumors.Furthermore,it is beneficial to the supervision of curative effects. But it is necessary to exclude the possibility of false positive and false negative cases.
