A Review on Urban System Planning of China since 1990

Base on the main literatures on China’s Urban System Planning since 1990,it’s consider that the Urban System Planning has greatly changed on its forms and contents with the development of socio-economic situations.The guide principles of planning emphasized more on the region coordination,space control,resource and environment protection as well as their rational development and utilization other than on the economic development in the past years.Now the planning object is transformed from the district area to function area and the planning is focused more on the urban-rural development as a whole other than on the urban development.In the future,the Urban System Planning will be requested to reform on planning guidelines,planning goals,planning approaches and implement mechanism.The article points out a question on how to establish an unified regional planning system aiming to integrate territorial planning,development priority zoning and strategic planning.
