The CT Findings of Primary Retroperitoneal Tumors

Objective To discuss the CT appearance of primary retroperitoneal tumor,in order to improve the diagnostic accuracy of this kind of tumors.Materials and Methods The CT findings of 28 cases with primary retroperitoneal tumor confirmed by pathology were analyzed retrospectively.The location,shape,size and degree enhancement of tumors were analyzed and compared with pathological results.Results There were liposarcoma in 3 cases,leiomyosarcoma in 4 cases,malignant extragastrointestinal tumors in 2 cases,malignant fibrous histiocytoma in 3 cases,angiomyolipoma in 1 case,schwannoma in 4 cases,paraganglioma in 2 cases,pheochromocytoma in 3 cases,neuroendocrine tumors in 1 case,dermoid cyst in 1 case,vascular tumor in 3 cases.These tumors had different CT appearance.The accuracy of location was 71.42%(20/28),the qualitative diagnostic accuracy was 21.42%(6/28).Conclusion CT plays an important role in location,qualitative diagnosis and differential diagnosis of primary retroperitoneal tumor.
