Abstract

Xu Heng and Liu Yin, representative Confucian scholars in the early Yuan Dynasty in North China, both accepted the Chen-Zhu Confucian School philosophy but in different ways. Their different attitudes toward the philosophy represent the different attitudes of the northern scholars towards new academic thoughts. The two scholars' life also represents the life of the, northern scholars in general in the early Yuan Dynasty.
