The Dissemination of Confucian Classics and Its Influence in the Wu and Yue Areas in the East Han Dynasty

Abstract

The study of Confucian Classics,which was mainly disseminated through the educations by the local government,the non-government organization and learning in other places,was greatly developed in the Wu and Yue Areas in the East Han Dynasty.The development of the study of Confucian Classics in the Wu and Yue areas was caused by such reasons as the system of the government official,the spread of the Confucian Ethical Code proposed by officials and the influence of well-known scholars.Compared with the traditional study of Confucian Classics,it attached little attention to Shi Fa and Jia Fa,but more on extensive knowledge and Chen Wei.There appeared more Confucian scholars and works,and the social atmosphere was filled with the Confucian Ethical Code because of the development of the study of Confucian Classics in the Wu and Yue areas.
