Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of combination of lamivudine and interferonα-2b in the treatment of patients with chronic hepatitis B. Method 26 patients with chronic hepatitis B received combination of lamivudine and interferonα-2b and 34 received lamivudine alone for one and a half years treatment. Result At the end of the regimen, the HBeAg/antiHbe seroconversion (65.4%) in combination group was higher than in lamivudine group(37.6%,P 0.001 ) and the HBV DNA loss were 96.2% and 94.1%, respectively(P 0.05); The complete response rate was 38.5% in combination group, much higher than in lamivudine (17.6%,p0.01)。YMDD mutants were detected in three patients in lamivudine group and HbsAg loss was found in one patients in combination group. Conclusion Combination of lamivudine and interferonα-2b in the treatment of patients with chronic hepatitis B get a better effect, which might improve complete response and decrease YMDD mutation.
