Abstract

Objective To observe the effects of high-dose three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy on advanced lung cancer patients and its complications. Methods. Thirty-two patients with non-small cell lung cancer received treatment of high-dose three-dimensional conformal radiation 6~8 Gy/f, one fraction every other day with the total dose being 48 Gy. Results Four to 8 weeks after the radiotherapy, the overall response rate was 28.1% (9/32). The efficacy rate was 78.1% (25/32) and one-year survival rate was 62.5%(20/32). The radiation-induced lung and esophageal injuries rates were respectively 21.9%(7/32) and 6.25% (2/32). Conclusion The high-dose three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy can effectively improve the local control rate of advanced lung cancer. It has low rate of complications and has overall satisfactory effect.
