Clinical study on effects of trimetazidine on improving heart function in patients with ischemic cardiomyopath

Abstract

Objective To explore the effects of trimetazidine(TMZ)on heart function in patients with ischemic cardiomypath.Method 30 cases took trimetazidine 20mg after each of the three meals,besides routine therapy.Clinical outcomes were evaluated 4 weeks latter,left ventricular ejecting fraction(LVEF)and fractional shortening(FS) of echocardiography were measured before and after the treatment of trimetazidine.Result 17 case(56.7%)were effective after the treatment,LVEF and FS increased from 0 43±0 08 and 0 20±0 07 to 0 55±0 07and 0 36±0 06 respectively,with P0 01.There found no adverse reactions related to the drug.Conclusion trimetazidine,which optimizes the pathway of energy metabolism in condion of myocardial ischemia,can improve the heart function in patients with ischmic cardiomyopathy,may be as an adjuvant drug for the disease.
