Protective Effect of Fenghuajie Vaginal Plug in Mice Model of Candidal Ablicans Vaginitis

Objective To investigate the protective action of Fenghuajie Vaginal Plug in mice model of vaginal infection caused by candidal ablicans.Methods The BALb/C mice immunosuppressed with cyclophosphamide were infected intravaginally by candidal ablicans.The mice vaginas were treated with high dose(0.66g crude drug/kg)、midium dose(0.495g crude drug/kg)and low dose(0.33g crude drug/kg)of Fenghuajie Vaginal Plug for two days.The quantitation vaginal lavage fluid were cultured and the colony forming units(CFU)were determined.The vaginal tissue were pathological detected.Results The colony forming units(CFU) of high dose,midium dose,and low dose of Fenghuajie Vaginal Plug were significantly lower than that of control group.The P values were 0.05,0.01,0.01,respectively.Pathological examination of the vagina was indicated that the Fenghuajie Vaginal Plug improved the pathological changes in the model of vaginitis from Candida albicans in the mice.Conclusion The Fenghuajie Vaginal Plug can effectively protect the mice from vaginal infection caused by candidal ablicans.
