Abstract

Objective To repair residual crowns and roots of anterior teeth with casting post core with metal porcelain crown. Methods One hundred and forty-five anterior teeth with residual crowns and roots were chosen for treatment. Self-curing plastic sticks were used to make die of posts and cores, and then were cast in whole. Metal porcelain crowns were made, following completion of cement cast post cores and impression. Results One hundred thirty-seven cases were repaired with success and 8 failed, with a success rate of 94. 5 %. Conclusions The casting post core and metal porcelain crown is a practical approach to the repair of residual anterior crowns and roots. Ideal treatment results can be achieved with this method, which can be further extended in its clinical application.
