Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of nursing care interventions in operating room on preventing postoperative pulmonary infection. Methods A total of 90 surgical patients were randomly divided into observation and control group, with 45 patients in each group. The operating room based nursing interventions were performed in observation group, while conventional nursing were applied to control group. Incidence of postoperative pulmonary infection, length of stays, cost and rate of nursing satisfaction were observed. Results Compared to the control group, observation group had lower outcomes in infection incidence(6. 7% vs. 26. 7%),length(8. 9 ± 2. 3 vs. 15. 2 ± 5. 1) and cost(6654. 5 ± 215. 4 vs. 8526. 5 ± 167. 6) of stays(P 0. 05; P 0. 01),higher nursing satisfaction rate(95. 6% vs. 82. 2%)(P 0. 05). Conclusion Nursing care interventions in operation room has potential to reduce the incidence and increase the nursing satisfaction, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
