Phonemes,Sound-Changes and Intonation:Three Main Steps in English Phonetics Teaching

Abstract

The aim of English teaching is to improve students' communication ability which is recognized in English Teaching circle in and abroad. From English phonemes,sound-change and intonation,the author tries to explain why English phonetics can be of great importance to English learning,proving that phonetics teaching is the first step of enhancing communication ability,suggesting that the teaching of English phonetics which has the basic position in English should be stressed in the whole of English teaching practice.
