On Teaching English Phonetics

Abstract

In order to learn English well,one should lay a good foundation of phonetics,which is mainly about phonetic transcription,rules of pronunciation and so on.And the practice of English pronunciation is essential.This essay summarizes the general problems during the study,discusses the cause of these problems and gives some suggestions on the teaching of English phonetics.
