Abstract
As the GIS involves a large number of spatial Information, spatial data index can improve the efficiency of the data store and data query and thus its study and establishment is of important realistic meaning. This paper shows that R-tree index and Quad-tree index and a two-tier query model for Oracle Spatial. As a new object-relational data base management system, Oracle Spatial combines the spatial data and attribute data effectively and provides R-tree index and Quad-tree index which ensure the rapidness and veracity of the spatial query. This paper implements spatial data index and search of GIS, which can ensure the quickness and exactness of the query and search results.
