Abstract
Objectives To observe the efficacy of bismuth potassium citrate and omeprazole and clarithromycin and tinidazole in treatment of helicobacter pylori (HP) infection-related peptic ulcer. Methods 142 patients with peptic ulcer identified by endoscopy were randomly divided into two group.72 patients in treatment group were treated by bismuth potassium citrate, clarithromycin and tinidazole; 70 patients in control group were treated by omeprazole , clarithromycin and tinidazole, with a treatment course of one week. The patient's state of symptom improvement and adverse reaction during the treatment course were observed and recorded. Results The cure rate, effective rate and total healing rate in treatment group were 41.7%,38.9% and 80.6% respectively, which were 57.2%,27.1% and 84.3% respectively in control group. There was no significant difference in total healing rate between two groups (P0.05).Conclusion The therapeutic effect of bismuth potassium citrate, clarithromycin and tinidazole on HP infection-related peptic ulcer is similar to that of omeprazole, clarithromycin and tinidazole, but the former is comparatively cheaper, with shorter treatment course and less complications.
