Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of the level serum of homocysteine and cystatin C in type 2 diabetic patients with nephropathy. Methods 74 cases of diabetic patients were selected and divided into non diabetic nephropathy and diabetic nephropathy group according to serum albumin excretion rate.50 cases who carried on physical examination were selected as control group, and they were healthy.Homocysteine,Cystatin C,serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen level were detected. Results The level of homocysteine,Cystatin C,serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen in non diabetic nephropathy group and diabetic nephropathy group were higher than those in control group, the difference was statistically significant(P0.05);The level of homocysteine and cystatin C in diabetic nephropathy group were higher than those in non diabetic nephropathy group, the difference was statistically significant(P0.05);the level of serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen in diabetic nephropathy group compared with those in non diabetic nephropathy group, the difference was not statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Nnderstanding of serum homocysteine and serum cystatin C levels contribute to the early stage of diabetic nephropathy diagnosis, and which has important clinical significance.
