Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of Ecadherin gene in human breast tissue.Methods Immunohistochemical technique was used to detect the E-cadherin protein among 15 normal samples,15 fibroadenoma samples and 45 human breast cancer samples.Results The expression of E-cadherin was significantly lower than that of the other two groups(P0.05).Low expression of E-cadherin was significantly related with the size of tumor,differentiation,clinical stage,c-erbB-2 and lymph node metastasis(P0.05),and there was no significant relationship with ER,PR and the age(P0.05).Conclusion Low expression of E-cadherin is significantly related with the carcinogenesis,the size of tumor,differentiation,clinical stage,c-erbB-2 and lymph node metastasis in breast cancer.
