Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of tumor suppressor gene E-cadherin in female basal like breast carcinoma. Methods The expression of E-cadherin gene in 42 cases of basal-like breast carcinoma and normal tissue of adjacent to cancer and normal breast tissue were detected Using immunohistochemical staining method. Results E-cadherin expression was lower in the basal-like breast carcinoma samples than that in normal breast tissue and normal tissue of adjacent to cancer.E-cadherin expression was significantly associated with the differentiations and lymph node metastasis, resepectively(P 0.05).E-cadherin expression had no statistical significant difference in different clinical TNM stages, age and tumor size(P 0.05).Conclusion The examination of E-cadherin expression can be used as a vital index to evaluate the biological behavior and prognosis of breast carcinoma.
