Abstract
[Objective]To understand the epidemiological characteristics and the inflencing factors of Epidemic Cerebrospinal Meningitis in Licheng District of Jinan city during the past 55 years and provide scientific evidences for controlling Epidemic Cerebrospinal Meningitis effectively.[Methods]The epidemiological characteristics of Epidemic Cerebrospinal Meningitis were analyzed based on the data from National Notifiable Disease Reporting System.[Results]The results showed that from the 1960s to the 1980s,the morbidity of Epidemic Cerebrospinal Meningitis was much higher. Two incidence peaks were observed in the periods of 1962-1968 and 1975-1977,in which the morbidity was higher than 39.16/100 000.The morbidity lowered dramatically after the vaccine used widely in 1985.The cases were scattered in the district, the incidence peak appeared in Winter and Spring and 85% of the cases were children under 15 years old.[Conclusions]The synthetical prevention measures dominated by vaccination of Epidemic Cerebrospinal Meningitis should be adopted. The main objects of vaccination should be the children under 15 years old.
