Abstract
Objective: To observe the effect of Daihuang Zhechong pill (DZP) on the indexes of liver function, fibrosis and ultrasonic B examination in patients with chronic hepatitis, and explore its possible anti-fibrosis effect. Methods: Thirty-six patients with chronic hepatitis were treated with DZP as well as Chinese herbs decoction according to TCM criteria (treatment group). Thirty-two patients with chronic hepatitis were treated only with Chinese herbs decoction as the control group. Results: Liver fibrosis indexes in the treatment group declined significantly after 3 consecutive months, esp. HA and hPCⅢ, which were significantly lower than those before treatment (P0.01). Moreover this tendency maintained after 6 consecutive months (P0.05). Meanwhile the indexes of liver function (ALT, TBil and Glb)and ultrasonic B examination also showed obvious improvement(P0.05). Conclusion: DZP could improve the liver function and slow down or reverse liver fibrosis process with stable long-term effect.
