The clinical value of the colposcopy in the diagnosis of cervical lesions

Abstract
Objective To explore the function of colposcopy in the diagnosis of cervical lesions.Methods The 351 cases of cervical lesions dingnosed by colposcopy and pathology from Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospitals during october 1999 to April 2005 were reviewed.Results 351 cases were examined by colposcopy and pathology.Among 217 cases diagnosed as chronic cervivitis by colposcopy,109 cases were further diagnosed pathologically as cervical precancerous lesions,25 cases as invasive cervical cacinomas in situ.The consistency between colposcopy and pathology reaches 90%.Conclusion The colposcopy is with significance in the early diagnosis of cervical precancerous lesions and cancer in situ.
