The effects of lactulose and bifid lriple viable on the levels of TNF-α and interleukin-6 levels in serum and ascites in cirrhosis patients with spontaneous bacterial peritonitis

Objective To observe the effects of lactulose and bifid lriple viable on the levels of TNF-α and interleukin-6(IL-6) in serum and ascites in cirrhosis patients with spontaneous bacterial peritonitis(SBP).Methods 120 cirrhosis patients with SBP were randomly divided into two groups: treament group(n=60) and control group(n=60),and 30 healthy subjects were served as healthy control group.All the cases were observed for 7 days.The concentrations of TNF-α and IL-6 in patients' serum and ascites were detected before and after 7-day treatment with lactulose and bifid lriple viable,and the patients' mortality rate was counted.Results The levels of TNF-α and IL-6 in serum and ascites in treatment group and control group were significantly higher than those in healthy control group(P0.05).After 7-day treatment,the levels of TNF-α and IL-6 in serum and ascites in treatment group were significantly lower than those in control group(P0.05).The mortality rate in treatment group was significantly lower than that of control group.Conclusion The lactulose combined with bifid lriple viable can decrease the levels of TNF-α and IL-6 in serum and ascites in cirrhosis patients with SBP and can improve the patients' prognosis.
