A Discussion on English Intonation Teaching

English intonation is an important means to express the thought and feelings of speakers.In spoken English,without intonation there would be no syntax.No doubt that English pronunciation is important,but compared with English intonation,the latter is much more important.In learning English pronunciation,the major problem of Chinese students is not merely to produce individual sounds correctly,but to read sentences with correct tune.It is precise that if the tune is used wrongly or improperly,it doesn't sound like English.This article mainly focuses on the importance of English intonation,the current situation of English intonation teaching in China and the effective measures to cope with English intonation teaching.
