Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the clinical application of high-resolution ultrasound-guided Mammotome, a minimally invasive biopsy system, in resection and pathological biopsy of microcalcification in breast. Methods:Resection and biopsy of microcalcification in breast of 32 patients registered to the breast clinic of our hospital were performed by high-resolution ultrasound-guided Mammotome and followed by pathological examination . Results:All of the breast masses screened on sonogram were resected exactly and completely. Each mass was resected through (8±3) peelings on average over a mean of (20±10) minutes. Conclusion:Ultrasound-guided Mammotome micro-invasive biopsy system for diagnosis and treatment of breast microcalcifications may result in safe and reliable outcomes, less pain and faster recovery. This approach can help early detection, and therefore is an effective management of the disease.
