Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between the genetic polymorphism of paraoxon promotor genes-909C/G and CHD and blood lipid level. Methods Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was applied to analyze the restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) of the PON1 genetic polymerase tangential position point of 86 cases of coronary heart disease. Results The result demonstrated a polymorphism in the promoter region of the PON1 gene. Three genotypes were identified as CC, CG and GG respectively. The frequencies of the genotypes CC, CG, GG and alleles C, G in CHD were 0.233, 0.558, 0.209 and 0.512, 0.488 respectively, which of the control group were 0.258, 0.523, 0.219 and 0.520, 0.480 respectively. No statistical significance was found in the genotype frequencies and allele frequencies between the two groups (P0.05), neither in the plasma lipid level (P0.05). Conclusion The result suggests that-909C/G polymorphism of the PON1 gene was not associated with CHD in Chinese population.
