Abstract

Objective:To compare the efficiency of four kinds of calcium hydroxide paste on apexification. Methods: This study included 129 infected young permanent teeth which were randomly divided into 4 groups.Apexification was completed in goupe A with traditional calcium hydroxide-0.9%NS paste, goupe B with calcium hydroxid-glycerin paste, group C with calcium hydroxide-iodoform-glycerin paste, and group D with calcium hydroxide-iodoform-0.9%NS paste.Follow-up was carried out for 2 years. Results: There was statistical difference in the effectiveness between the groups(P 0.05),except group B and D(P 0.05),and the difference between group A and C was significant(P0.01).Conclusion: Calcium hydroxid-glycerin paste, calcium hydroxide-iodoform-glycerin paste and hydroxide-iodoform-0.9%NS paste may be more suitable than traditional calcium hydroxide paste-0.9%NS on apexifieation.
