Abstract
In order to know the relations among the physical characteristics, body weight and body size properties of Gushi goose, the body weight and body size properties of sixty Gushi goose with 10-weeks-old were determined and the correlation analysis was also conducted. The result showed that the body weight and size properties of Gushi goose were closely related (P0.01). The correlation coefficient between the body weight and shin was the largest(0.613), the correlation coefficient between the body weight and chest depth, shin circumference, pelvis width, chest width, half-dive length, body side length and neck length were 0.567,0.528,0.518,0.428,0.376,0.362 and 0.262 respectively. The result of the correlation analysis of body size property on Gushi goose showed that body side length and chest width were significantly related, its corrrelaton coefficient was 0.444. The correlation coefficient between the shin length and keel length, shin chest were 0.459 and 0.479 respectively, which were also closely related. The shin circumference was also significantly correlated with chest width and shin length, their correlation coefficient were 0.327 and 0.479. The half-dive length was closely related with chest width, chest depth, neck length, and their correlation coefficients was 0.518, 0.435 and 0.523 respectively. The test results had positive effect in promoting the breeding, further hybridizing, development and utilization of Gushi goose.
