Therapeutic Effect of Tongxinluo Capsule on 62 Cases of Vascular Dementia

Objective To explore the effect of Tongxinluo capsule on vascular dementia. Methods The enrolled patients were randomly divided into control group (n=63) and tongxinluo capsule group (n=62) .All the patients were treated with antihypertension, antiplatelet aggregatory and neuroprotection. In addition, the patients of tongxinluo capsule group were given 4 capsules of 3 times every day for 3 period of treatment of 12 weeks. All the patients were evaluated by HDS, MMES, blood test, urine test, liver function, kidney function ,electrocardiogram, blood pressure, blood sugar, symptomatic variation side effect before and after every period of treatments. Result compared with control group, the score of MMES and HDS of the patients in tongxinluo group had difference (P0.05)and significant difference (P0.01) after 4 and 8 weeks. Conclusion Tongxinluo capsule is effective on amentia of VD patients with less side effect.
