Abstract
Objective To investigate the change of bone mineral density(BMD) in patients with type 2 diabetes(T2DM) and the related factors. Methods The BMD of 336 T2DM patients were measured, and the detection rate of osteoporosis (OP) was calculated. The biochemical indicator (BI) differences between the OP group and the non-OP group were detected and the correlation of BI with OP was analyzed. Results When T-Score of≤-2.5 and ≤- 2.0 SD were used as the diagnosis standard, the detection rate of OP were 8.90% and 17.26% respectively. BMD was significantly negatively related to age(P0.01), positively related to BMI(P0.01). BMD was also positively related to menopause duration in female T2DM patients. BMD was related to DM course only in 40-49 years old group(P 0.05). Conclusions It is more meaningful to use T-score of ≤-2.0 SD as the diagnosis standard for the native T2DM patient. The older of age, the longer of menopause time and the lower of BMI, the more easily OP takes place.
