Abstract

Objective To observe the short-term efficacy of Valsartan on patients with congestive heart failure(CHF).Methods Sixty-five patients with CHF were randomly divided into two groups. The control group(n=33) was given routine therapy, and the treatment group(n=32) was given Valsartan(80 mg,once a day) in addition to routine therapy.Echocardiography was performed before the treatment and 6 months later. Results Twenty cases were with apparent effective and 8 cases responded slightly in the treatment group, and the total effective rate was 87.5%.In control group, there were 14 cases with apparent effective and 8 cases responded slightly, the total effective rate was 66.7%.The difference was obviously (P0.05).LVEF,LVEDV,LVESV,SV and CO were all improved at various degrees in the treatment group compared with the control group (P0.05~0.01).Conclusions Valsartan can effectively control heart failure.
