Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effect of conjunctival flapwith corneal limbus stem cells autograft for treating traumatic pterygium. Methods Date of 26 patients(26 eyes) with traumatic pterygium originated by different ocular trauma who were treated with conjunctival flap autograft and with corneal limbus stem cells autograft. The date was evaluated retrospectively. The patients were followed for 4-12 months.Main outcome measures: Healing of the implants and corneal epithelium, recurrence and restoration of the donor site. Results The implant was desquamate and lysed 13 days later in one eye(3.85%).And the reoperation was successful after one month.Corneal epithelium was healing 7-15 days later.Three eyes(11.54%) were recurrened. The donor site surface was healing 7days later, and engorgement was dismissed one month later. There was no influence to external appearance. Conclusion Conjunctival flap with corneal limbus stem cells autograft is successful intreating traumatic pterygium.
