Effects of Different Dialysis Modes on Hypotension in Elderly Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the preventive effects of different modes of hemodialysis on dialysis-related hypotension in elderly hemodialysis hemodialysis patients. METHODS: A total of 8 elderly patients undergoing regular hemodialysis in our hemodialysis room were randomized to four groups: common hemodialysis group,adjustable sodium dialysis group,adjustable sodium plus ultrafiltration curve group,low temperature adjustable sodium plus ultrafiltration curve group. The four groups were followed with regard to blood pressure during treatment,serum sodium levels before and after dialysis,weight gain during dialysis and thirst. RESULTS: The incidence of hypotension in adjustable sodium dialysis group,adjustable sodium plus ultrafiltration curve group and low temperature adjustable sodium plus ultrafiltration curve group were all significantly lower than in the common group( P 0. 01). CONCLUSION: The adjustable sodium dialysis and the low temperature adjustable sodium alone or in combination with ultrafiltration curve dialysis modes resulted in lower incidence of hypotension in elderly hemodialysis hemodialysis patients and improved prognosis.
