Discussion on the b-value and ν_4-value in the seismic safety evaluation for engineering sites in Chongqing Province

Abstract

The b-value and ν4-value are two important parameters in the calculation of disaster analysis in the evaluation of safety for engineering sites.The rationality of b-value and ν4-value decide the rationality of disaster analysis.This paper introduces two methods to evaluate b-value and ν4-value,contrasting and discussing the value of b-value and ν4-value.Our results will have important reference value for carrying on seismic safety evaluation and earthquake predication in Chongqing Province.
