Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of fiveleaf gynostemma herb on haemorheology and abnormal CRP cauesd by feeding diets rich in hypercholesterolemia and its machanism. Methods 40 male rabbits were divided into groups A, B, C and E at random. Each was fed fatty diets (standard diet 92.5% + 2% cholesterol + 2% yolk + 3.5% lard + Fiveleaf Gynostemma Herb 5g/kg, fatty diets + simvastatin 5mg/kg, fatty diets and standard diets. Blood was drawn seperately before the experiment and at the end of the 6th and the 9th week after the experiment to check the level of TG, TC, LDL-C, HDL-C and haemorheology(blood viscosity, plasma, index of red blood cell aggretation as the obvious indexes) as well as CRP. Results Haemorheology: blood viscosity, plasma, index of red blood cell aggretation of groups A, B and C increased with feeding time and there were differences compared with those before experiment(P0.05~0.01). After feeding, the index of haemorheology of group A was superior to that of group B((P﹤0.05) and group C(P﹤0.01); ② CRP: With the feeding time prolonged, it had difference in groups A, B and C than that before experiment(P﹤0.01). After feeding, there was difference between groups A, B and C(P﹤0.01). CRP of group B was higher than that of group A and there was no difference between group B and group A. (P﹥0.05);③ TG,TC,LDL-C and HDL-C: With the feeding time prolonged, TG,TC,LDL-C and HDL-C of groups A, B and C were increasing gradually,HDL-C of groups A and B increased and it had difference compared with that before feeding(P﹤0.05~0.01).Group A and group B was lower than group C(P0.05~0.01). TG, HDL-C, LDL-C of group A were superior to those of group B(P0.05) and TC of group B was superior to that of group A(P0.05). Conclusion Fiveleaf Gynostemma Herb had an interference effect on haemorheology and abnormal CRP of rabbits fed by diets rich in hypercholesterolemia.
