Abstract
Determining precision was affected by the impurities in the extract of Angelica sinensis when the content of ferulic acid was determined directly by UV spectrophotometry.Paper chromatography (PC) was used to eliminate these impurities. The separation condition of PC and the stability of different extraction solvents were studied.Based on the results,a determination method of ferulic acid in Angelica sinensis by PC spectrophotometry was established. The elution system for PC was:chloroform:methanol (water:acetic acid (6∶2∶2∶0.5),the wavelength for spectrophotometry was 330 nm.The recovery rate of the method was 99.61% and relative standard deviation ( RSD ) was 2.79%.The absorbency shows good linearity relation between 0.020 and 0.061.
