Abstract

Objective:To study the clinical significance of combined detection of serum NSE and CYFRA21-1 in patients with lung cancer by elctrochemiluminescence immuno-assay(ECLIA).Methods:The serum levels of NSE and CYFRA21-1 in 210 patients with lung cancer,44 patients with benign lung disease and 112 healthy controls were measured by ECLIA.Results:The serum levels of NSE and CYFRA21-1 in patients with lung cancer were significantly higher than those in benign lung disease and healthy controls(P0.05).The serum levels and sensitivity of 2 tumor markers in patients with lung cancer were related to types of pathology, and the serum levels of 2 tumor markers in patients with non-small cell lung cancer were correlated significantly with clinical stage and lymph node metastasis. The sensitivity of NSE and CYFRA21-1 were 38.1% and 59.5%.The specificity of NSE and CYFRA21-1 were 93.6% and 96.8%.The sensitivity and specificity of combined detection of NSE and CYFRA21-1 were 72.9% and 90.4%.The serum levels of 2 tumor markers for newly diagnosed cancers and non-responders were significantly higher than that for responders(P0.05).Conclusion:The combined detection of serum NSE and CYFRA21-1 was of important clinical value in the clinical diagnosis, monitor and evaluation of response to treatment of lung cancer, and the combined detection of serum NSE and CYFRA21-1 might significantly improve the sensitivity for lung cancer detection, due to the obvious complementarity of the 2 markers.
