Abstract
The Research on geo-spatial cognitive procession on maps goes through affect-perception,mental imagery come into being, memorizing mental imagery and contrast-analysis stage. It has a strong aim.The process is influenced by geographical concepts existing in one's mind strongly. The cognitive process includes Top-Down and Bottom-Up stages.A procedure producing the mental imagery is a procedure which includes gathering up graph characteristics, extracting its elements and its organization.Cognition is a procession of judging and reasoning on geographical concepts, which is a core of geo-spatial cognition. The mental imagery is a foundation of cognitive thinking.
