Abstract
A new kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace nitrite has been developed. The method is based on the catalytic effect of trace nitrites on oxidation of indigo carmine with potassium periodate in dilute sulfuric acid solution. The detection limit for nitrite is 0.072 μg/L with linear range of 0~4.0 μg/L. The method has been applied to the determination of trace nitrite in water samples. The results are in (agreement) with those provided by Griess method with precision of 2.9%RSD(n=6).
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
